Welcome to Salade

Welcome to Salade...a horticultural hamlet where tomates, oignons, pommes de terre, céleris, poivrons, choux-fleurs et aubergines live, love, learn, struggle and solve mysteries together.

Why vegetables? I  teach Spanish.  The animation of vegetables was a natural outgrowth of an early lesson in which I used apples of various colors, tomatoes of three sizes and chilis of various colors and sizes to teach Spanish 1 students the words for several colors, shapes and sizes.  One day I lined up the large beef tomato, the regular tomato and the small “roma” tomato and announced:  “Esta es una familia.”  It took off from there!
